What you’ll do

  • Design, implement and support the W&M Tech API Platform, Services and Tools to enable consistent, reliable, fast, secure and compliant integration of internal and external W&M Tech applications and services.
  • Deliver the overall technical solution for API and Microservice with related platforms and areas.
  • Lead the technical team to perform Proof of Concept (PoC) on solution and component.
  • Arrange and perform regular technical review of the solution and application.
  • Lead the technical best practices and principles on API and Microservice architecture.
  • Explore the suitable technology stack for the API and Microservice architecture.
  • Work with the project manager to support project plans and correct resource and time allocation.
  • Work with the development lead and oversee the technical work.
  • Manage the technical tasks for the project including technical governance.
  • Act as the software engineering expert, supporting the design of W&M Tech initiatives to ensure new solution follow the API Standards and comply with all non-functional engineering standards ultimately ensuring that these new solutions can rapidly and seamlessly be integrated onto the W&M Tech Platform.
  • Deliver a pivotal capability and will ensure that the vision of the business, and future product development, achieves their desired targets, ensuring technology is of exceptional quality on a global scale, delivering the highest possible value to the business.

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive experience in application development and support environment on large and complex systems.
  • Demonstrated API and integration experience delivering on a complex platform including continuous integration/ continuous deployment within an agile environment.
  • A track record of continuous delivery of incremental value at scale multiple digital products in multi-team, multi-business environments.
  • Extensive experience in detailed requirements analysis, software design, implementation, testing, and deployment.

Technical Requirements

  • API management or Microservices
  • API, web and application architectures and development methodologies.
  • Nodejs, Golang Experience
  • Cloud based infrastructure (AWS, Google App Engine, Azure, etc).
  • Extensive experience with SQL
  • Logging and Monitoring (Splunk, New relic, CloudWatch or similar platform)
  • Docker
  • CDN and Caching (Akamai, CloudFront) (edited)
  • CI/CD pipelines (Build kite, Go CD or similar tools)
  • Experience with High Availability/Disaster Recovery architecture
  • Message Queue (Kafka, AWS SQS, AWS Kinesis or similar platform)
